We have been actively promoting electroacoustic music since 1997. We were one of the first websites to sell music online and are very proud of our record of helping the younger generation of composers gain exposure and recognition as well as offering a comprehensive catalogue of works from the pioneers of the genre.

Recently we have begun to offer a selection of our catalogue as downloadable tracks in the hope that for a very small amount of money, you will be willing to take the plunge and sample the music of some of the less well known names on our website. These composers are the future of electroacoustic music and by supporting them you will be helping them to continue doing what they do best as well as giving yourself the chance to hear some really outstanding music.

All the tracks are encoded as 320k (the highest quality available) Stereo MP3s. The files are consequently quite large but won't be a problem for anyone with a broadband connection.

All you have to do is go to our tracks page, add the ones you want to try to your shopping cart, and you will be presented with a webpage with links to the tracks as soon as your credit card payment has been authorised. You will also be sent an email with the links and a seven day period to download the tracks.
Natasha Barrett Biog
 image
Natasha Barrett (1972) began working seriously with electroacoustic composition during a master's degree in analysis and composition at Birmingham University, UK.

This study gave her the opportunity to work with BEAST (Birmingham Electroacoustic Sound Theatre), and has greatly influenced her current work in terms of the spatio-musical potential of sound and performance.

In 1998 she was awarded a doctoral degree in composition, supervised by Denis Smalley. The Humanities section of the British Academy funded both degrees. In the same year, a grant from the research council of Norway enabled a composer residence at NoTAM.

Since this time she has been active as a composer and teacher, and in the performance of electroacoustic music in Norway and abroad.

Her compositional output consists of works for instruments and live electronics, sound installations, dance, theatre, and animation projects, but all activity is rooted in her acousmatic composition, which features most strongly amongst her work.

Projects are frequently commissioned from international organisations, and her work has received awards from amongst others: Noroit-Leonce Petitot (Arras, France, 2002 & 1998), Bourges International Electroacoustic Music Awards (France 2001, 1998 & 1995), Concours Scrime, (France 2000), International Electroacoustic Creation Competition of Ciberart (Italy 2000), Concours Luigi Russolo (Italy 1995 & 1998), Prix Ars Electronica (Linz, Austria 1998). Her work is available on empreintes DIGITALes (www.electrocd.com), Cultures electroniques/Mnemosyne Musique Media, CDCM/Centaur, Computer Music Journal Sound Anthology, Prix Noroit, and Aurora labels.
